Yellow Buses route 1a is a bus route in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, operating between Bournemouth Square and Somerford.
History[]
In April 2015, this route ran between Bournemouth and Somerford.
In the 2017 network reorganisation, route 1a was grouped as a PROIRYLINE and renamed as P1 without major route changes, and the change was reverted upon restoration of the old network in 2018.
In April 2019, some journeys were extended to New Milton.
Yellow Buses went out of business in August 2022. Morebus took over the route with the extension to New Milton dropped.

This route serves the following areas in order:
- Bournemouth town centre (Bournemouth Square as terminus, Bournemouth Pier towards Bournemouth only)
- Lansdowne, Boscombe, Pokesdown, Iford, Jumpers Corner (Bath Road, Christchurch Road)
- Christchurch, Somerford (Purewell, Somerford Road)
Before Yellow Buses went out of business, it also served:
- Highcliffe-on-Sea (Lymington Road, Ringwood Road, Walkford Road)
- New Milton (Gore Road, with some departures terminating at town centre and some extending at Tesco)

Under morebus operation, this route operates every 15 minutes daytime Mon - Sat, and every 30 minutes Sunday.
Before August 2022[]
On Monday - Saturday daytime, this route operates every 10 minutes between Bournemouth and Somerford, with 2 other departures per hour, timed 5 minutes apart from the normal 10-minute headway, on the full route between Bournemouth and New Milton, giving 8 departures per hour in total.
On Monday - Saturday evenings, buses run between only Bournemouth and Somerford on 30-minute interval, with the final daytime bus from Somerford to New Milton at 19:05 and from New Milton to Somerford at 19:35. However, the Monday and Saturday late night departure, labelled route 1aN, at 00:05 after the end of day from Bournemouth, runs to New Milton, which will return to Jumpers Corner on Friday and Saturday only late night. This night service is the only evening service to New Milton.
On Sunday, buses run every 20 minutes between only Bournemouth and Somerford, and another departure every hour, 10 minutes apart from the short workings, running on the full route to New Milton Tesco in daytime. Evening service is every 30 minutes between Bournemouth and Somerford only, with no service to New Milton.
Routes 1, 1a and 1b provide 16 departures every hour in total on Monday to Friday daytime between Bournemouth and Christchurch.
