London Buses route E5 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London. The service is currently contracted to Abellio.

History[]

Route E5 is one of three E-routes that does not serve Ealing but it does serve Greenford.

When the E-routes where re-tendered in 1997, Centrewest ordered a batch of Marshall Minibuses for routes E5, E6 and E10, but they took a very long time to arrive. These buses kept on breaking down and were unpleasant to ride on, so they were quickly replaced by mini Dennis Dart SLF / Marshall Capitals (DM).

The E5 was extended to Perivale Medway Estate in 2002 and round the corner to Tesco in December 2006.

Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts will be introduced to the route from May 2009, with them now using Enviro 200 MMC vehicles.
