Hertford East railway station is one of two stations in Hertford in Hertfordshire, England. The station is To be added... north of London Liverpool Street. It is fifteen minutes' walk from Hertford North station.
The current station, which was designed by W.N. Ashbee was opened by the Great Eastern Railway on Monday 27 February 1888, replacing a station further to the east which dated from the opening of the branch line from Broxbourne in 1843.
It is on the Hertford East Branch of the West Anglia Main Line, and train services are provided by Greater Anglia. There are two platforms, one of which is generally only used at peak times.
In addition, the station also boasts both a station kiosk and a taxi service.

The typical off-peak service from the station is two trains per hour to London Liverpool Street via Tottenham Hale. During peak times there is one train per hour to Stratford station also via Tottenham Hale as well as the standard two to London Liverpool Street. These services are mostly operated by British Rail Class 317 units.
On Sundays, most services are operated by British Rail Class 315 units and are re-routed through Southbury and Seven Sisters.

Proposed developments[]
Some options of the proposed East West Rail Link involve reopening a route between Hertford East railway station and Hertford North railway station.[1]
It is proposed to have Oyster cards accepted here by Abellio Greater Anglia.
